How did you get into skiing?
I got into skiing when I was very young through the MYSL program at Theodore Wirth. My parents would bring me there every Sunday. Eventually I joined the Armstrong High school ski team in 7th grade which is where I started racing and getting more into the training and team aspect of nordic skiing.

What are your most fond memories of skiing?
My favorite memories are all from training camps with LNR on the north shore or in West Yellowstone. I was very lucky to have grown up skiing with such a great club and to have the opportunities to travel around training and racing. I loved getting to spend so much time with my best friends on long rollerskis or adventure runs in the mountains, and I'm looking forward to continuing that with Team Birkie.

Best result in skiing?
The result that I am most proud of is completing my collegiate career at UNH with a strong race at the NCAA championships finishing in 9th place and becoming an All-American.

Favorite place to visit in Minnesota?
My favorite place to visit in Minnesota is definitely the North Shore. I absolutely love Lake Superior and I'm excited to be based in Minneapolis so I can go visit more. I also enjoy traveling further up north to Ely and spending time at our family cabin up there.

Favorite pre-race breakfast?
I enjoy having a bagel with cream cheese before racing, but if that is unavailable I usually go for oatmeal and a banana.

Favorite workout?
Long mountain adventure runs that go a little longer than expected. I love reaching the summit and looking out at the view.

What keeps you motivated?
My teammates. I love seeing the people around me doing well because it motivates me to perform and strive for better. I love knowing that I get to workout every day with my best friends :) and that my family is cheering me on.

Tips for recovery?
SLEEP. Lots of sleep. I enjoy a good nap after hard workouts. Also, eating lots of good snacks and drinking a ton of water.

How can you make your community better?
I am excited to inspire some young skiers to get outside and have fun with sports. I really enjoy going to junior practices and sharing my love of cross country skiing with the younger skiers.
